Greg Lauren Repurposes Patchwork Denim Shirts for SS18

Apr. 2, 2018

By: Candice Nembhard

Brand: Greg Lauren

Season: SS18

Key Pieces: The distressed indigo patchwork pants and denim/check shirt are a strong combo for a spring-ready look.

Editor’s Notes: Greg Lauren continues to bring his unique approach to cuts and styling with the release of his Spring/Summer 2018 collection.

Working with a simple color palette, the capsule stands out on account of its consistent use of frayed distressing and patchwork. Similarly, Lauren’s ability to seamlessly blend contrasting colors and fabrics together brings pieces such as the 1990s-style denim/plaid shirt and patchwork pants to the forefront of the drop.

The 50/50 button-down features indigo denim with a homespun check fabric. The repurposed vintage denim is complemented by a band collar, front pouch pockets and elongated buttoned sleeves.

The pants are also made from repurposed vintage denim and feature a mid-waist rise with button fly and contrast drawstrings. The pants also have a raw-edge hem bottom, keeping in line with the distressed theme.
