A series of portraits and self-portraits about identity, time and our relationship with images. The series was shot the last week of 2019.
Instagram was born late 2010 and Isabelita started taking photos of herself using Instagram in 2011. During these years people’s selfies and her own relationship with the app through portraits has evolved. Digitally, it works as an interactive experience. The viewer is expecting the image is completely charged (the blurry effect you expect from a photo partially charged on Instagram) after a few seconds, the observer finds the “truth” about the image.
This “Last Project” is a reflection of who we are, why we share images of ourselves. Other readings are the past of the time, the necessity of being seen and the information missed or partially completed of an image.
