Loro Piana x Cabana

Created for Cabana’s Spring/Summer 2023 issue, Felipe Sanguinetti’s film celebrates the enduring relationship between craftsmanship, design, and domestic life. Shot at Loro Piana’s historic factory in the foothills of the Piedmont Alps, the documentary offers an intimate look at the artisans, materials, and centuries-old techniques that define one of Italy’s most celebrated luxury houses.

Range Rover – ‘Traces’

For Range Rover’s installation ‘Traces’ at Milan Design Week 2026, Sanguinetti directed ‘Memory and Colour,’ the opening chapter of an immersive journey conceived with Storey Studio and NOWNESS. Through a cinematic meditation on memory, place, and identity, the film traces recollections from Sanguinetti’s Argentine upbringing to his life as a creative, each chapter anchored by a distinct hue.

Projected across four walls and multiplied through mirrored reflections, the installation transforms personal memory into a shared sensory experience, introducing Range Rover’s Bespoke philosophy that color is more than a finish – it is an emotional expression of place, individuality, and craftsmanship.

MCM x NOWNESS – ‘Formed from Heritage’

Commissioned by NOWNESS to mark MCM’s 50th anniversary, Sanguinetti’s short documentary ‘Formed from Heritage’ follows the creation of a limited-edition porcelain cup produced in collaboration with the historic Porzellan-Manufaktur Nymphenburg.

Filmed inside the Munich workshop, the documentary captures the meticulous handcraft behind one of Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactories, where centuries-old techniques remain unchanged. As artisans shape, fire, and finish each piece by hand, the film explores the shared values of craftsmanship, heritage, and craft that unite the two German houses, showing how tradition continues to inform contemporary design through patience, precision, and material expertise

LOUIS XIII – ‘Being and Time’

Produced to mark the 150th anniversary of LOUIS XIII, Sanguinetti’s film documents ‘Being and Time,’ a collaboration between the Maison and Chinese artist Jiang Qiong Er. Through an intimate exploration of craft, ritual, and material, the film reflects on a dialogue between French savoir-faire and contemporary Chinese artistic expression, united by a shared reverence for time and transmission.

Moving between gesture, object, and landscape, Sanguinetti captures the quiet precision behind the collaboration, framing luxury not as spectacle but as the accumulation of knowledge, patience, and exceptional making passed from one generation to the next.

Fueguia

For Fueguia 1833, Sanguinetti explores the vision of founder Julian Bedel, whose concept of ethnobotanical perfumery brings together scientific research, artistic inquiry, and a deep reverence for the natural world. Moving between landscapes, raw materials, and the rituals of fragrance making, the film reveals a practice rooted in material curiosity and environmental stewardship.

More than a portrait of a perfume house, it reveals a philosophy where scent becomes a vessel for memory, place, and emotion, preserving the character of the natural world through exceptional artisanal creation.

Ai Weiwei x Rubelli – ‘About Silk’

For Ai Weiwei’s first collaboration with the historic Italian textile house Rubelli, Sanguinetti directed the original documentary accompanying ‘About Silk,’ one of the landmark installations of Milan Design Week 2026. Filmed between Downing College in Cambridge and Rubelli’s weaving mill in Como, the film follows the evolution of Weiwei’s first work in silk, exploring the dialogue between craftsmanship, political expression, and cultural memory.

Interweaving the artist’s reflections with the meticulous process of transforming his iconic imagery into woven textiles, Sanguinetti’s film extends the exhibition beyond the gallery, revealing the ideas, experimentation, and human exchange behind a collaboration that bridges centuries of textile tradition with contemporary activism.

Carlo Mollino – Design Miami/Basel

For Oscar Humphries’ installation at Design Miami/Basel, Sanguinetti directed a short film exploring two of Carlo Mollino’s most significant architectural works – Turin’s Teatro Regio and the enigmatic Casa Mollino. Filmed over two days in the architect’s hometown, the work offers an intimate portrait of Mollino through the spaces he conceived, revealing the theatricality, symbolism, and emotional depth that defined his practice.

Moving quietly through interiors rarely experienced in this way, Sanguinetti’s camera transforms architecture into narrative, inviting viewers to encounter Mollino not only as a legendary designer, but as a visionary architect whose singular imagination continues to resonate today.

‘Gauchos & Patrons’

Set against the vast plains of Argentina, Sanguinetti’s ‘Gauchos & Patrons’ is a cinematic portrait of a world suspended between myth and reality. Observing the enduring relationship between landowners and horsemen, the film traces a culture shaped by loyalty, labor, and an intimate connection to the land. Through quiet moments of daily ritual and expansive landscapes, Sanguinetti reflects on the traditions passed from one generation to the next, capturing a way of life where identity is carried through gesture, craftsmanship, and shared experience as much as through words.

Louis Vuitton – ‘For Friends’

Created for Louis Vuitton, Sanguinetti’s film follows photographer Alessandra d’Urso as she reflects on ‘For Friends,’ her year-long photographic project documenting the artists, designers, collectors, and collaborators who shape her creative world.

Published by Steidl, the project evolved from a portrait series into a lasting record of a close-knit artistic community. Drawing on d’Urso’s photographs and personal reflections, Sanguinetti explores the role of friendship as a catalyst for artistic exchange, revealing how trust, curiosity, and shared experiences become the foundation for enduring creative relationships.

‘Amoris Pomum’ – NOWNESS

Released by NOWNESS, Sanguinetti’s ‘Amoris Pomum’ is a poetic meditation on the tomato, narrated by acclaimed Argentine actor Ricardo Darín and inspired by the words of Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda.

Moving between landscape, cultivation, and the rituals of preparing and sharing food, the film transforms a humble ingredient into a symbol of memory, identity, and cultural heritage. Blending documentary observation with lyrical imagery, Sanguinetti celebrates the beauty found in everyday rituals, showing how the simplest objects can carry profound emotional and historical meaning.

Maison de la Truffe x NOWNESS – ‘The White Truffle’

Created for Maison de la Truffe and released by NOWNESS, Sanguinetti’s film journeys into the forests of Piedmont, where the centuries-old tradition of white truffle hunting continues today. Following truffle hunters and their dogs through the autumn landscape, the documentary reflects on the patience, intuition, and generational knowledge that define the elusive harvest.

More than a portrait of a culinary delicacy, the film becomes a meditation on the enduring relationship between people, nature, and ritual, revealing a tradition whose value lies as much in its preservation as in its rarity.

François Halard x Cabana – ‘Portrait of a Home’

Created for Cabana Magazine’s ‘Portrait of a Home’ series, Sanguinetti’s film turns the camera toward the Provençal home of renowned photographer François Halard. Long celebrated for documenting some of the world’s most extraordinary interiors, Halard becomes the subject of an intimate portrait, reflecting on the objects, places, and encounters that have shaped his creative life.

Richly layered with art, books, and collected artifacts, his home emerges as an extension of his photographic eye – a deeply personal landscape where memory, beauty, and lived experience converge.

Christian Louboutin x NOWNESS – ‘Inner Worlds’

Produced for Art Basel and released by NOWNESS as part of the ‘Inner Worlds’ series, Sanguinetti’s film offers an intimate portrait of Christian Louboutin inside his Paris home.

More than a residence, his Paris home becomes a self-portrait, filled with artworks, objects, and mementos collected over a lifetime of travel, collaboration, and creative discovery. In conversation with Louboutin, the film explores the personal influences that have shaped his distinctive vision, revealing how memory, curiosity, and a passion for shared creation continue to inform one of fashion’s most celebrated designers.

Luis Laplace x NOWNESS – ‘Inner Worlds’

As part of NOWNESS’ ‘Inner Worlds’ series for Art Basel, Sanguinetti’s film offers a study of architect and designer Luis Laplace inside his Paris home and studio.

Set within the spaces where he lives and works, the film explores the personal influences behind his practice, where art, architecture, history, and design exist in continuous dialogue. Surrounded by an eclectic collection of books, artworks, and objects, Laplace reflects on an approach rooted in curiosity rather than convention, showing how each project emerges from the unique character – or ‘DNA’ – of a place.

William MacKinnon x NOWNESS – ‘Private View’

For NOWNESS’ ‘Private View’ series, Sanguinetti’s film observes painter William MacKinnon in and around his studio in northern Ibiza. Following the artist at work, the documentary explores the instinctive, often unpredictable nature of painting, where each canvas evolves through intuition, uncertainty, and emotional response.

Rather than documenting finished works, Sanguinetti focuses on the creative process itself, capturing the tension between control and spontaneity that defines MacKinnon’s practice. The result is a quiet meditation on artistic creation, revealing painting as an act of continual discovery rather than predetermined intent.
