The third edition of MATTER and SHAPE returned to the Jardin des Tuileries under the creative direction of Dan Thawley. The fair brings together a considered program reflecting the evolving culture of contemporary design, positioned at the intersection of craft, industry, and critical discourse. This year’s edition further expands its role as a platform for both established and emerging voices.
For 2026, MATTER and SHAPE unfolds across two bespoke pavilions conceived by the London- and New York-based multidisciplinary studio JA Projects. Drawing on the cultural and geographic context of the Tuileries, the project adopts a socially engaged architectural approach, employing hemp bricks and green oil-stained pine to articulate a refined and sustainable spatial language. The structures balance material sensitivity with formal clarity, creating an environment that is both grounded and forward-looking.
