François Halard photographed the Gucci Bamboo Encounters’ exhibition, held within the courtyard of the 16th century Chiostri di San Simpliciano. Located in the heart of Milan, the space oscillates between the ancient and the modern, intertwining the dimensions of design and art in an ever-evolving dialogue.
The exhibition presented a series of one-of-a-kind contributions by contemporary designers and artists from around the world, who were invited to reimagine the bamboo in bold and unexpected ways, experimenting with new techniques.
Gucci | Bamboo Encounters was on display during Fuorisalone from April 8-13, 2025 and was complemented by a public program in four acts—each expanding on different dimensions of “encounters,” articulated through ‘imaginaries,’ ‘materials,’ ‘crafts,’ and ‘narratives.’
