Francois Nars + Steven Klein to Collaborate on Nars Holiday Collection

Fashion photographer Steven Klein is known for his outré, perilous, sometimes menacing tableaux. Now he’s bringing his signature edginess to a makeup counter near you with the help of maquillage maestro François Nars. The two are teaming up to create what’s sure to be a covetable holiday collection. “Steven is one of the most disruptive, fearless photographers of his time,” says Nars. “I love his work—his ability to strip down and expose his subjects, to create shocking visual narratives that are never what they seem.” Though few details are being released, we’re going to wager that between a makeup artist who owns a wardrobe of black suits and a photographer with a bondage bent, the 23-piece collection is going to be less It’s a Wonderful Life and more Fifty Shades. And with packaging designed by longtime collaborator Fabien Baron, we’ve got our fingers crossed that there will be vinyl, fetishistic details, and an inky black lipstick (à la Giles’ LFW Fall ’15 look).
