Pinocchio, whose adventures and history are among the most famous stories in the world - interpreted by the best pens of the twentieth century, is at the center of an exhibition at Villa Bardini that wants to give an account of the role and the important a passage that this figure has had in the art of the last century.
From Giacometti to LaChapelle, from Munari to Paladino, from Calder to Ontani, from McCarthy to Venturino Venturi, the wooden puppet marked not only the collective imagination but also the art in the round, which is the protagonist of this exhibition.
Curated by Lucia Fiaschi, from an idea by Lucia Fiaschi and Ambra Nepi, in the splendid setting of Villa Bardini, the exhibition tells the thousand facets of the enigmatic creature - once more contemporary - that moves further and further away from the pages of the books but that the artists have often chosen as the protagonist of their imaginary universe.
ENIGMA PINOCCHIO. Da Giacometti at LaChapelle is an exhibition produced and organized by the Fondazione CR Firenze and Fondazione Parchi Monumentali Bardini and Peyron and Generali Valore Cultura with the coordination of the Arthemisia Group, in collaboration with Unicoop Firenze and with the patronage of the Municipality of Florence.
