Giovanni Bianco Named Vogue Italia Creative Director

The appointment marks a further step in the reorganization of the fashion magazine directed by Emanuele Farneti.
Condé Nast International has named Giovanni Bianco creative director of Vogue Italia.
Reporting to newly appointed editor in chief Emanuele Farneti, Bianco will curate the graphic redesign of the magazine and will oversee the execution of fashion editorials.
“We are glad to welcome Giovanni in the team of Vogue Italia,” said Farneti. “His internationally recognized talent and vision, based on solid Italian roots, will write the new chapter of the image of the magazine.”
A Brazilian-Italian, Bianco founded in 2001 in New York GB65 creative agency, specialized in developing unique communications and marketing projects in the luxury, fashion and entertainment businesses. During his career, Bianco served as art director for the advertising campaigns of a range of international labels, including Miu Miu, Versace, Givenchy, Marni, Dsquared2, Ermenegildo Zegna and Dolce & Gabbana.
Bianco, who will continue running GB65, has been collaborating with Madonna since 2004 by designing her album covers and guiding the creative direction of some of her tours.
The appointment of Bianco marks a further step in the reorganization of Vogue Italia after the loss of the magazine’s former editor in chief Franca Sozzani, who died in December.
A memorial for Sozzani will be hosted at Milan’s Duomo on Feb. 27.
