Rosey Chan

Rosey Chan is a pianist, composer and performance artist. Classically trained at the Royal College of Music in London, her early performances at internationally-renowned venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Pompidou Centre and London’s 100 Club, cemented her reputation as one of the most innovative performers of her generation.

Rosey collaborates on a wide range of projects working with artists in dance, architecture, fashion, film and visual art.

Rosey’s ongoing series of explorations and collaborations continue to examine the context in which her influences combine, and by subtly shifting the emphasis of one element in relationship to another creates a new perspective; using her inventive instincts to create something rigorously grounded that also breaks the constraints of convention and thus creating a new artistic space for herself. Bach, Bill Evans, fashion, photography, film and art all converse with each other.
Her multi-media performances have premiered at Frieze Art Fair, the Hong Kong Art Fair, The Garage (Moscow), Royal Opera House London. Rosey was guest curator of the first Hong Kong Liberatum festival 2012.

Rosey’s first solo album ‘ONE’ was produced by Sting and features an diverse display of influences from Bach to Bill Evans via Chopin and John Cage.
